Admitted Student Treks

We are finally able to announce our two summer treks for LGBTQ admitted MBAs! These treks are designed to be a learning & networking experiences focusing on a specific industry for newly admitted LGBTQ MBAs (note these will not be two days of corporate presentations!).

Space in treks is limited and admitted LGBTQ students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to participate.  There is no cost to participate, however attendees will be responsible for flight and hotel accommodations (Reaching Out will secure a group hotel rate and will also provide all transportation to company visits).  Read more about treks

Finance Trek to NY

July 9-10, 2014

This trek is designed as a learning & networking opportunity for those admitted LGBTQ MBAs interested in the finance industry to better understand what options they might consider within the industry, whether investment banking, private equity, wealth management or even financial operations.  Students will also meet other LGBT individuals admitted to MBA programs around the country and have opportunities to network with LGBT finance MBA alumni and professionals at a NYC-wide ROMBA mixer. A maximum of 20 spots will be available for this trek.

Hosting firms include Citi, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley with others to potentially be added.

Marketing & Retail Trek to Minneapolis

July 16-17, 2014

This trek is designed as a learning & networking opportunity for those admitted LGBTQ MBAs interested in the business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2b) marketing, consumer packaged goods (CPG) and retail to better understand what options they might consider within the industry, meet other LGBT individuals admitted to MBA programs around the country, and network with LGBT marketing and retail MBA alumni and professionals. A maximum of 20 spots will be available for this trek.

The trek will include intimate visits and workshops with Target, General Mills, United Healthcare and 3M’s innovation lab along with a networking reception. Additional companies may be added at a later date.
